Apostille service for foreign clients

TKY Law Firm is a law firm based in Naha, Okinawa. It is located near Okinawa local government which is the central station in City of Naha. 

We sometimes help foreign clients who need the apostille for their Japanese official documents (birth certificate, death certificate, etc.). We will apply to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for the apostille of such documents for our clients. Please contact us if you need such service by our law firm.

Hague Convention

We can help clients in Hong Kong or other countries which are signatory to Hague Convention (or the Apostille Convention) for applying to Foreign Ministry of Japan for Apostille Service of Japanese official documents. 

Also, we can apply to the city hall for official documents on behalf of clients.

Non signatory countries

We can help clients in China or other countries which are not signatory to Hague Convention (or the Apostille Convention) for applying to Foreign Ministry of Japan for Authentication of official seals of Japanese official documents. Thereafter, we apply to Chinese or other relevant Embassy or Consulate General to obtain legalization.

Also, we can apply to the city hall for official documents on behalf of clients.

Need Family Register in Japan?

We often get a request from a client to get an official Japanese document(family register in Japan) before having apostille on the document. 

People may need a death certificate (family register) to prove the death of the Japanese citizen in the procedure of international inheritance.

Sometimes, people who was married to a Japanese citizen in the past may need a divorce certificate (family register) to prove that he/she is not currently married.

We may be able to provide support in this area, so please feel free to make an inquiry.
